Internet Service Provider ViewQwest has recently launched Security 360°, a new cyber security service aimed at their enterprise customers. In response to the new cyber security concerns recently with the likes of WannaCry and NotPetya, the Security 360°, consists of 4 key areas - Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Managed Detection and Remediation (MDR), Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Protection, and Managed Network Security. Let's take a closer look at 2 key areas!
Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB
A CASB refers to service or a software tool that sits between an enterprise’s on-premise infrastructure and the cloud service provider’s infrastructure. This offers an agentless protection that can secure data that is in the cloud, regardless of managed or unmanaged devices, and it also provides discovery of shadow IT and breaches into the organization.
Is your company unable to control access to sensitive data? You can set policies to watermark/redact/encrypt/block data based on the device, user access and the location where the attempt to access the information is made, and even set up 2-Factor Authentication policies where required. What about if your company has a BYOD (bring your own device) culture? The CASB enables protection of your device by having the ability to do a remote wipe on your ex-employee’s device, with either a selective or full wipe. Managed Detection and Remediation (MDR)
The MDR is an active protection that recognises an operating system’s DNA, and can tell when there is any malicious activity happening, and it immediately blocks the process when it happens. This is different from traditional security where it provides a post execution malware protection, and remediation is managed by the ViewQwest team, which will alleviate alert fatigue on your IT team.
Pricing and Availability
The MDR is going at $20 per machine/month, while the CASB is going for $20-30 per user/month depending on the complexity of requirement. Click here to find out more.
