Circles.Life conducted a survey among 900 Singaporean mobile users (aged 16-54) on data usage habits. The results were saddening. Half of the respondents expressed that they were unable to last more than one day without mobile data! What have we become?
How long you could last without mobile data?
Well, on the bright side, over 50% of them could last more than a day. With responsibilities and commitments, it must be hard to live without mobile data these days. Who knows when your boss will call you? Note that this results does not omit Wi-fi!
So how much data does the average Singaporean use? And why are they using so much data?
9 in 10 felt frustrated when they reached their month data limits, who wouldn't with that absurd amount of available data? I myself belong to the right-most column, as I still hold the 3G 12GB mobile data plan by SingTel which only costs $28.85 per month! Yet, due to my usage habits of watching YouTube on-the-go, I occasionally exceed my limit.
Half of Singaporeans exceeded their data cap over the last six months. Half of these people exceeded by 3GB. Whatsapp, followed by Facebook, YouTube and Instagram were indicated as the most used app. Shopping Apps (Lazada, Carousell etc.), Navigation Apps (Google Maps, Apple Maps, etc.), and Music Apps (Spotify, Soundcloud, etc.) were in the middle of the results. Dating Apps are the least used. Good News!
In conjunction with National Day 2017, Circles.Life is offering a free upgrade to its no-contract mobile plan for new subscribers. New subscribers joining in August will enjoy the 20GB for $20 Data Plus option for free for the month of August.
Mr Rameez Ansar, co-founder and director of Circles.Life said “We want consumers to experience what it really feels like to stop budgeting data. When you have so much data, you can live your digital life to the fullest - without constantly worrying about busting monthly data caps, and incurring excess fees” ARTICLES YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN |
