With Apple’s Keynote coming up later tonight, we decided to round up the latest rumours and leaks of the newest in Apple’s repertoire, including the highly anticipated new iPhone that’s going to be announced. Keep in mind that these are just rumours and ‘leaks’ so nothing is verified until the announcement later. Without further ado, here are 10 rumours about the new iPhone!
There are 3 iPhones that will be released this year, namely iPhone X, iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus.
Seems like there will be more than one iPhone released this year, with the next 8th generation in the lineup, along with the iPhone X, X being the Roman numeral for 10, which is also the number of years which the iPhone has been around.
Say goodbye to Touch ID, a new feature called Face ID is coming.
If this video is credible at all, it seems like Apple will be hinging their hopes on the new Face ID feature. It seems like it will not be as secure as the Touch ID, but without getting our hands on the phone, it is currently impossible to tell.
Additionally, it also seems that Face ID will also be replacing the Touch ID when using Apple Pay, and if Face ID is really as unsecure as it sounds, it seems like this will be a big problem for Apple.
Instead of a Home Button, there will now be a Home Bar
iPhone users might need to get used to the removal of the home button, and instead get used to the new Home Bar, where it can be swiped to do what the home bar did previously like closing apps and returning to the home screen.
Meet the new way of expressing yourself – Animojis.
It seems like the new front camera is capable of capturing your facial expressions, and interpreting them into the new ‘Animojis’, that is basically emojis which can express your facial expressions. This sounds like a really interesting way to express yourself through text, and we are excited to see what these ‘Animojis’ have in store for the texting arena.
The status bar is getting an overhaul – probably to compensate for iPhone X’s huge front camera module.
iPhone users might need to get used to yet another visual change on their phones, if iPhone X is really getting that huge front camera module, the status bar will need to change to fit the new design. This looks really interesting, and it seems like a pretty innovative design choice, but without the actual phone announced yet, we’ll have to keep our thoughts on hold for now.
You need speed? You got speed with a new hexacore beast of an A11 processor.
Apple released its first homegrown Quadcore processors on the iPhone 7 series. It seems like Apple wants to step up their game by introducing what sounds to be ridiculously powerful, a hexa (six) cored A11 Processor. I want to benchmark this baby already.
USB-C might be making an appearance.
Many people were hoping that the new iPhone will be equipped with a USB-C (the standard of the future). It seems like they might be getting what they are wishing for!
The Apple Watch seems to be getting a pretty solid upgrade, being able to hold its own with cellular capabilities.
It seems like Apple will be releasing a new Apple Watch equipped with cellular capabilities. It seems that the watch has an E-Sim function, that can clone your phone’s sim card and be able to take calls, even when it is away from the phone. As an Apple Watch user, this seems like an amazing upgrade, and I really hope that this means that the Apple Watch will truly be evolving into a true smartwatch.
4K support is expected on the new entry in the Apple TV series
Apple TV users waiting for 4K support on their devices might just be getting what they want! However, as with all 4K content, you need to have a considerably fast internet connection speed to get a good streaming going.
Also, the new Apple TV seems like it will get a new remote – one with haptic force feedback. New AirPods?
It seems a little disappointing that the new AirPods retain the same sawed-off toothbrush design from its predecessor. It might come with new features equipped so we will never know till tonight during the Keynote!
Here you go, 10 things to expect from Apple’s Keynote event later, here’s to hoping that they are credible! Stay tuned to our TechOut Facebook page for the livestream of the Keynote later! |
